more accessible. For the coding-related licenses, certifications and degrees necessary to excel, you must take and pass various tests. Unfortunately, everyone isnt on an equal playing field regarding testing. Lack of accessibility in testing makes coding and other STEAM careers seem that much further away for people living with a disability. It is vital to make those tests more accessible to the neurodivergent as well as those living with other disabilities that affect their mobility and cognitive functions. For example, allowing students the option to use adaptive technology to help them complete coding tests or allow them to choose their testing environments and formats. Ultimately, if we can make testing more accessible, it'll lead to more people flourishing in coding careers.

Lean on Influencers in the STEAM Space
We must also look at our presentation to create more inclusive pathways to careers in coding and other STEAM ields. Coding is hands down one of the most rewarding, challenging, fun and lucrative professions. But many organizations, schools and experts are presenting it in tedious ways. Coding is complex and involves a lot of layers, but learning it doesnt have to be boring or overwhelming. For example, leaning on influencers in the coding and STEAM space can keep the learning experience fresh, engaging and fun. From interacting with influencers on social media to having experts visit classrooms to participating in games and events related to coding, we can make the education process enjoyable and the industry more attractive. Coding can be made more inclusive so long as we continue to make more of an intentional effort. Start with the tips above to become a fixture in the movement to make coding more inclusive, accessible and, in turn, more diverse.
