ith the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 has proved to be a year of innova- ion and creativity. From virtual classrooms and workplaces to evolving technology in the medical field, the tech world has been working harder than ever to better our lives and adapt to the new normal. As we enter 2021, we'll take a look at some of this year's greatest technological advances and how they could help us in the coming year.
The Power of 5G
Without 5G and high-speed internet, all of the following resources wouldn't be possible. Not only does proper connectivity ensure a faster way to access the digital world, but allows for this system to be accessible no matter where you are. The need for quarantine and social distanc- ing has caused a dependency on digital resources more than ever before, whether it be to access work files from home, attend a virtual classroom, attend virtual events or to stream your favorite television show. With the increased speed and accessibility to 5G, businesses will be able to further advance their business plans and reach a larger audience while individuals will be able to continue to perform their daily activities with less fear of connectivity issues.
As-A-Service Technology
A term that often refers to the accessibil- ity of high-tech services, businesses were able to utilize technology to keep their businesses running no matter their size or budget. For example, resources such as Zoom and Google have become import- ant in almost every business as a way to conduct meetings, organize online learning, and hold job interviews in a free and widely accessible format. This has given businesses access to an array of high-level technology without needing to hire specialists or spend tremendous amounts of money. Through the pandemic, this knowledge has become more widespread and user-friendly, which would allow for further growth and innova-

ion of businesses even after the pandemic ends.
Robotic Aide
Though there has always been futuristic tales of robots and machines built to help humans, these tall tales are closer to reality than ever before. For the first time in the United States, the COVID-19 pandemic in- spired the use of drone delivery for packag- es and medications to initiate a contact-free way to deliver essentials. Robotic aide has also seen an emergence in recent years, especially when it comes to caring for the elderly-some of the most susceptible peo- ple to infection. The further development and implementation will continue in 2021, creating a safer way to navigate through the pandemic as it comes to its close.
Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence has been one of the most popular tools throughout the pan- demic. As data has been collected on health procedures, infection rates and preventative measures, AI algorithms have analyzed its indings to show what is and isn't working when it comes to preventing the spread of the virus. The data collected from AI has also helped the medical field to estimate how many people will be coming to seek treatment, allowing for medical compa- nies to prepare in advance for the high demand. These same principles can better help businesses in correlation with As-A- Service technology. Using digital services of their own, businesses can utilize artificial intelligence to gather data that will predict sales trends and customer satisfaction in an easier, more accessible format than ever before.
Virtual and Augmented Reality
The world of virtual and augmented reality has been booming over the past few years in the world of entertainment, but its services can also be applied to the work- force. In the next year, virtual and augment- ed reality will be researched in medical procedures, allowing for remote doctor's appointments, as well as for doctors to examine patients safely without contact. These tools will also serve the education and businesses sectors, allowing its users to better collaborate in classroom se@ings and team projects in a safely distanced fashion.
